Kirsty Stevens D.O.B – 15/09/1985
I am a very creative and passionate person who greatly enjoyed university and the hard work it required. I wish to project this within the work place and I strive for success in any job that is presented to me. As I have now come to the end of my studies I feel I am ready to take on the exciting experiences a working studio has to offer.
EDUCATION: 2005 – 2010 BDes Hons Degree of Jewellery and Metal Design - Duncan of Jordanstone Art School, Dundee University. 2003 – 2004 Portfolio Preparation Program - Dundee College. 1997 – 2003 Higher Grades of B and C - Bell Baxter High School.
WORK EXPERIENCE: July 2008 New Starts: From Start to a New Start 2008 Peaches and Scream • Designed and produced handmade ‘KSnTELL’ jewellery to a local Boutique named Peaches and Scream. August 2009 Zombie Porn Factory • Exhibited work in a 'vagrant' gallery exhibition in a Glasgow laundrette. • Was invited to display current Degree Show work at a Multiple Sclerosis Society July 2010 New Designers • Displayed my final year of work at the New Designers exhibition, which is viewed by designers and design companies in hope to find new design talent. • Currently intern to top jeweller Patricia Nicolas. Working with her in all aspects of the business. TECHNICAL SKILLS: • Has a strong standard of jewellery designing, a good understanding of all traditional jewellery hand making techniques and a high quality of laser cutting control and operation.
INTERESTS: Gallery Visits • I enjoy viewing art exhibitions, I try and visit one every month. The most recent was a Chris Ofili exhibition at Tate Britain, London. Design Magazines • I regularly read Metalsmith. A magazine that informs me of current conceptual and contemporary jewellers, this gives me motivation to push the boundaries within my own work. • Fashion design is one of my passions. Vogue, Dazed and Confused and ID magazine show cutting edge design that is not expected from fashion which inspires me greatly. |
